Alta Vista 

Located between Beacon Hill and Monte Vista about three miles north of downtown, Alta Vista appeals to students at nearby Trinity University and San Antonio College as well as young families and professionals. It has a hip, quirky, collegiate vibe due to the affordable housing, proximity to the St. Mary’s Strip bar and restaurant scene, and San Pedro Springs Park. San Pedro Springs is the second oldest public park in America, deeded for public use by the Spanish government in the early 1700s. The shimmering pool, surrounded by spreading century trees and historic stone buildings, has been a place of recreation and refreshment for nearly 300 years.
